World Care Foundation is a registered Scottish charity and Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO).
These Terms & Conditions apply to donations made to World Care Foundation and the use of our donation services.
World Care Foundation works to help those in need. Our charitable purposes include the prevention and relief of poverty, the advancement of education, the relief of those in need, and the advancement of citizenship and community development.
The charity supports people locally and internationally through humanitarian aid, education and personal development projects, community support, volunteering, and charitable giving.
Donations made to World Care Foundation are voluntary gifts given to support the charity's work.
By making a donation, the donor confirms that:
• They are legally entitled to make the donation
• The money or property donated belongs to them, or they have authority to donate it
• The donation is not from an illegal source
• Any information provided is accurate and complete
World Care Foundation may refuse or return a donation where required by law, where the donation falls outside the charity's charitable purposes, where the donation includes unacceptable conditions, or where the trustees consider that accepting or retaining the donation would not be in the charity's best interests.
As a charity, donations are generally considered final once made. However, World Care Foundation understands that genuine mistakes can occur.
Refund requests may be considered where:
• A donation was made in error
• An incorrect amount was entered
• A duplicate donation was made
• A donation was made without the donor's authority
• The charity is legally required to return the donation
• The donation cannot be used for the purpose for which it was given
• The trustees determine that a refund is in the charity's best interests
Refund requests should be submitted as soon as possible and include the donor's full name, donation amount, donation date, payment method, transaction reference (where available), and the reason for the request.
All requests will be reviewed individually. Refunds are not automatic and will be handled in accordance with charity law.
Where a refund is approved, funds will normally be returned to the original payment method.
If World Care Foundation is unable to deliver a project according to the donor's specific requirements, the charity will contact the donor to either refund the donation or seek approval to redirect the funds to another project of the donor's choice.
It is the donor's responsibility to ensure they understand the purpose of a donation before making it.
Where a donor makes a Gift Aid declaration, they confirm that they are a UK taxpayer and have paid sufficient UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount of Gift Aid claimed on their donations.
Where a donation is made to a specific appeal or project, World Care Foundation will use the donation for that purpose in line with the charity's restricted donations policy.
If more funds are raised than required, circumstances change, or the charity is unable to use the donation exactly as intended, World Care Foundation may seek the donor's approval to redirect the donation to a similar charitable purpose consistent with the charity's objectives.
Online donations may be processed by third party payment providers. These providers may have their own terms, privacy policies, processing times, fees, and security procedures.
World Care Foundation is not responsible for technical failures, delays, or errors caused by third party payment platforms, banks, card providers, or fundraising platforms.
World Care Foundation is committed to fundraising honestly, respectfully, and responsibly. All fundraising activities are carried out in accordance with applicable charity law, fundraising regulations, and recognised good practice.
World Care Foundation operates a 100% Donation Policy.
This means that every penny donated to a specific cause is used strictly for that cause, including project delivery costs.
Staff, administration, and operational costs are covered separately through dedicated overhead donations, volunteers, Gift Aid income, charity collection tubs, business sponsorships, and other unrestricted sources of funding.
