Thousands of Palestinian women and families who escaped the devastation in Gaza now seek refuge in Cairo. Many arrived with nothing more than the clothes they were wearing after being forced to leave their homes, loved ones, and livelihoods.
While they may have found safety after leaving Gaza, their daily struggle is far from over. Mothers are trying to care for children without a stable income. Many women are unable to afford vital medication for themselves or their children. Families are facing rising living costs with little or no support, while many refugees who entered Egypt for urgent medical treatment continue to face overwhelming healthcare expenses.
Every day, countless sisters are forced to make impossible choices between buying food, paying rent, purchasing medicine, or meeting the basic needs of their children.
They need more than sympathy; they need our support.
