Help Rajab Walk Again, Restore Hope to a Beautiful Soul

Rajab is an 18-year-old nasheed singer blessed with a voice that brings comfort and peace to all who hear it. A gentle and inspiring young man, he once spent his days sharing faith and hope through his singing. Mash’Allah, his future was filled with promise.

Tragically, Rajab’s life changed in an instant when a bombing struck as he sat outside his home with friends. He sustained severe injuries, including displacement of his hip, knee, and foot, leaving him in constant, excruciating pain. After receiving emergency treatment on the Emirati Floating Hospital, Rajab and his family traveled to Cairo in search of specialized care.

His first critical surgery, costing 150,000 EGP, is scheduled for Friday, 10 April 2026, though it remains uncertain due to prioritization and the urgent need for funding. Because of the complexity of his injuries, an international orthopedic expert must be brought in, and doctors anticipate that he may require several additional operations. Delays in treatment could lead to devastating and irreversible consequences.

Rajab is in Cairo with his mother and two siblings, facing not only emotional hardship but also immense physical challenges. He lives in a tower block with no elevator, relying on several men to carry him up flights of stairs. An electric wheelchair is urgently needed to provide him with a measure of independence and dignity.

Despite his suffering, Rajab’s spirit remains remarkably strong. During our time with him, his beautiful voice healed our hearts. Yet, on our final hospital visit, we witnessed tears silently rolling down his face during an assessment. A moment of profound heartbreak that left us unable to move, overwhelmed by the depth of his pain.
