What is Fidya?
Fidya is a term used for those who cannot fast due to health issues or old age. They are not able to make up the fasts afterwards and therefore are required to feed a poor person for one day.
The rate payable for one day is £4 which is for one person’s meal for a day. For example, if someone were to miss 30 fasts during the month of Ramadan, the Fidya payable would be £120
