Irfan’s 1200km Solo Journey through Tunisia for Orphans

£7,682 of £10,000 raised

Peace and blessings to you all!

Insha’Allah, in mid-April 2024, post Eid ul Fitr, I am set to undertake the most demanding cycling challenge of my relatively short cycling journey, all in support of the orphans appeal by World Care Foundation.

My goal is to solo cycle 1200 km across Tunisia, equipped with my bike and tent, navigating unsupported through approximately 50% of the northern landmass.

The expedition kicks off in the historic city of Sousse, leading me through various towns and cities such as Hammamet, Kelibia, Huwariya, Tunis, Bizerte, Nefza, Ayn Drahim, Dougga, Maktar, Kairouan, ElJem, Mahdia, and Monastir.

This endeavour stands as my most significant cycling challenge to date, promising both testing moments and moments of joy along the route. There will be plenty of smiles and no doubt some tears. Encompassing 1200km of rugged Tunisian terrain, the journey includes an elevation gain of about 26000ft.

Accommodation-wise, I have opted not to book any, intending to sleep in my tent whenever feasible, although the warmth of Tunisian hospitality may occasionally alter this plan.

I am dedicating this ride to raising funds for World Care Foundation’s Orphans project, including support for the Pedlaz Cycling Club Embrace orphanage. While global attention may have shifted from the immediate needs of the orphans of the Syrian conflict, their ongoing requirements continue, and your support is crucial.

This challenge is entirely self-funded, ensuring that 100% of your donations go directly to the cause, adhering to a strict no-deduction policy. Your generosity will make a meaningful impact on the lives of these deserving children.

I look forward to your support and donations. Please donate what you can and share the link and content with your friends and family.
