AN EVENING FOR SYRIAN CHILDREN
The war in Syria has created a huge humanitarian crisis. As the fighting continues, the conflict has had an increasingly devastating effect on children.
Fact- 7.5 million children in Syria have known nothing but war. They have been born into war, displacement and horror.
Many children have lost their families, homes, schools and much more. Thousands of children have been killed or injured whilst others are facing severe deprivation. Over 2million children have sought refuge in neighbouring countries going through unimaginable journeys.
The number of orphaned and abandoned children in Syria is on the rise due to the present situation. These vulnerable Children have gone through traumatic experiences including the loss of loved ones and now have limited or no access to basic necessities such as food and water.
One of our volunteers who joined our latest mission quotes “I personally was introduced to a number of orphans who were in desperate need of medical assistance and basic humanitarian aid, a specific family I was introduced to was a widow who lost her husband in the war and has two disabled children, unable to work and with a medication bill of 60 USD monthly, urgent financial assistance is needed which highlights the need for an orphan sponsor program as well as a medical fund to support special cases. Her situation brought the message home about urgent need of assistance needed today, needed asap”
You can help Edinburgh Cares to provide fundamental human rights such as access to food, water and health care.
We invite you to join our fundraising dinner in aid of Syrian orphans and children in need with special guest Shaykh Reda Bedeir and host Ajmal Masroor. Your contributions will make an immediate difference in the lives of children.
